US President Donald Trump suggested today in an interview with FOX News, that Puerto Rico’s public debt would have to be wiped out.
“We have to work something. You have to look at the entire structure of debt. They owe a lot of money to friends on Wall Street and we’ll have to eliminate that. We’re going to have to say goodbye to that. I do not know if it’s Goldman-Sachs, but whoever it is, you can say goodbye to that (debt). We will have to do something, because the island’s debt is massive, “Trump said in an interview with Geraldo Rivera.
Trump’s expressions were given in an aside with Rivera during his visit to Puerto Rico.
Trump said “Puerto Rico’s debt will have to be wiped out.”
