On Thursday, Yauco’s Mayor Ángel Luis “Luigi” Torres Ortiz announced that “the work related to our solar street lights is progressing consistently.”
“Through this project, Yauco aims to become the second city equipped with solar street lighting, marking an important advancement in modernization and public safety,” the mayor stated in a written release, highlighting that just the day before, he and his director of public works evaluated the recent installations of street lights along highway PR-128.
“This initiative will further enhance the security of our streets,” he remarked. “It will undoubtedly complement our 93 surveillance cameras.”
According to Torres Ortiz, the total investment for the new project is $188,000 and will cover six intersections.
