On Thursday, a total of 103 associations and non-profit entities participated in a conference organized by appointed Health Secretary Víctor Ramos to discuss challenges and programmatic commitments within the Puerto Rico health system.

“We engaged extensively regarding the strategy to establish a platform for considering recommendations and programmatic commitments in health to ensure that government actions effectively address the actual needs of our community,” Ramos stated in a written declaration.

The participants underscored the importance of initiatives aimed at enhancing mental health coverage and optimizing resources to serve vulnerable groups, such as senior citizens and individuals with chronic illnesses.

Representatives from associations, including the Physicians and Surgeons Association of Puerto Rico, the Psychologists Association, and the Pharmacists Association, conveyed their willingness to actively partner with the Department of Health in executing the commitments.
