Yauco’s Mayor Ángel Luis “Luigi” Torres Ortiz held a meeting with Resident Commissioner Pablo Hernández Rivera in Washington on Saturday to address the urgency of speeding up the partial dredging of the Río Yauco.
“Simultaneously, we addressed our [aspect of the] commitment and allocated reconstruction equipment,” the mayor remarked. “The discussion was highly effective.”
“During the meeting, we covered the partial dredging of the Río Yauco, which has already been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the purview of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources,” Torres Ortiz noted. “This initiative is crucial for the safety and welfare of the people of Yauco.”
