In preparation for his swearing-in ceremony this upcoming Sunday, January 12 at 3 p.m., Yauco Mayor Ángel Luis “Luigi” Torres Ortiz stated on Tuesday that his administration “will focus the next four years on our cherished and esteemed seniors and, of course, on our children, who embody a future brimming with faith and optimism.”
“For us, as a Municipal Administration, our seniors and our children are pivotal groups, as both contribute unique values and play crucial roles in building a harmonious and united community,” the mayor expressed.
“Regarding our seniors, they enrich us with their wisdom and experience; they impart values and traditions, provide emotional and familial support, and have a significant impact on the community,” Torres Ortiz remarked. “Conversely, our children represent the future of our society and embody innocence and creativity. They are catalysts for change and fortify our family structures.”
The mayor further emphasized that the “connection between the elderly and the younger generation is particularly crucial: grandparents offer children unconditional love, life lessons, and emotional stability, which in turn strengthens our community bonds and mutual respect across generations.”
