A baby passed away around 5:22 p.m. on Sunday, at a medical facility in Vega Alta.
As indicated in the police report, the one-year-old child was rushed to the hospital by family members because he had developed a purple hue.
The physician who provided care for the infant confirmed the death. Further information was not available at the time of publication. The child’s remains were sent to the Institute of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
Detective Nicolas Maldonado from the Vega Baja Criminal Investigation Corps’ Homicide Division and prosecutor Daniela Mejías are conducting the investigation.
