This past week, Isabela’s Mayor Miguel “Ricky” Méndez Pérez declared that during the customary End of Year Race on Sunday, Dec. 29, commencing at 2 p.m., a grand Christmas celebration will take place at the Corchado Juarbe public square, featuring performances by Melina León and the Jóvenes del Areyto group.

“In Isabela, we take our Christmas celebrations seriously, and we are excited to invite all Isabelinos and guests to join us next Sunday for this occasion,” stated the mayor.

On that same date, the 60th iteration of the renowned Luis Abraham Abreu Mendoza End of Year Race will occur, which has been dedicated to Agenol González Cubero this year. The race is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. from the Coto neighborhood and will finish at the public square. Additionally, Isabela will host the Christmas Impact event on Monday, Dec. 30, departing from highway PR-113 outside the Coto Community at 4 p.m.

“From there, we will embark on a lively caravan through various communities, just as we have throughout this season,” commented Méndez Pérez. “Our aim is to spread Christmas cheer to every part of Isabela, especially to the elderly, those living alone, and everyone who values community togetherness. Felicidades to all.”
