In the spirit of Thanksgiving week initiatives, Aguas Buenas Mayor Karina Nieves Serrano, together with San Juan District Senator Juan Oscar Morales Rodríguez, distributed 338 turkeys to families facing hardships.

These families were selected through a collaborative effort with local leaders, non-profit organizations, religious representatives, and school administrators, ensuring that the act of kindness reached those who needed it the most during a week filled with gratitude, reflection, and family bonding.

The mayor emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of community solidarity among underprivileged populations.

“During this season, our goal is to bring joy and hope to families under difficult circumstances,” Nieves Serrano stated in a written communication. “Thanks to the assistance of Senator Juan Oscar Morales, we were able to carry out this distribution, embodying a message of unity and compassion for our community.”

Morales supported the initiative’s positive effects on the most at-risk communities.

“As public servants, it is our duty to be present and enhance the quality of life for our families,” he remarked. “This turkey distribution exemplifies how teamwork can create a meaningful impact in Aguas Buenas and across the district.”

The mayor also revealed that the town’s customary Christmas “trullas” will commence on Monday, Dec. 2.

“We encourage all residents of Aguas Buenas to partake in this wonderful celebration filled with Christmas joy and family togetherness,” Nieves Serrano expressed.
