---

On Monday, Suiza Dairy Corp. declared that it had finalized discussions with the General Confederation of Workers (CGT for its Spanish initials) regarding labor obligations tied to the shutdown of its VIDA Plant located in Aguadilla, which includes disbursements for benefits and compensation.

“In these challenging times, we take pride in announcing that we will provide benefits that exceed legal requirements and our contractual obligations,” stated Pablo Vallejo, general manager of Suiza Dairy, in an official statement.

The agreement, concluded during a meeting with CGT representatives and those from the plant, includes the disbursement of Christmas bonuses, final wages, holidays, sick pay, healthcare plans, and severance packages, benefiting 79 employees who are union members as well as those who are not.

The company expressed its appreciation to the Puerto Rican community and reaffirmed its dedication to the families that have supported the Suiza brand for over 80 years.
