This weekend, the Bomba, Plena, and Salsa Festival is set to occur at the Amelia Waterfront parking lot in Guaynabo’s Amelia neighborhood.
This traditional affair, arranged by the municipality’s Department of Arts and Culture, aims to support local businesses while celebrating the community’s cultural heritage and traditions. For many years, the festival has unified residents and visitors, creating a festive atmosphere of celebration and togetherness. The 2024 edition will showcase the talents of numerous local artisans displaying and selling their products in anticipation of the Christmas festivities.
“We encourage the community to partake in two days filled with great music in an event that celebrates our traditions and customs,” stated Mayor Edward O’Neill Rosa. “The Amelia community and its vendors work hard to provide cultural and sporting activities that foster unity among neighbors.”
This year, the festival honors 11 young athletes from the Amelia neighborhood who have distinguished themselves in various sports and are a source of pride and motivation for the community.
To guarantee the safety and convenience of all participants, designated parking will be accessible nearby, and municipal police will enforce a security plan throughout the festival days. The schedule features activities suitable for all preferences and ages:
