On Tuesday, the Puerto Rico Department of Health unveiled a new data portal that supersedes the earlier COVID-19 dashboard, broadening access to information about infectious diseases, public health, and epidemiological monitoring.
The portal can be accessed at https://datos.salud.pr.gov/
“This platform marks a crucial step forward in our dedication to transparency and the provision of trustworthy data, making sure citizens can access vital information for their health and safety,” stated Health Secretary Carlos Mellado López in a written comment.
The updated website enables users to review and download data on various matters of public concern, including dengue, hepatitis C, influenza, HIV/AIDS, and respiratory syncytial virus, among others. According to the Health Secretary, this tool aids in making informed choices for disease prevention and management.
This initiative, backed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is an integral part of the Department of Health’s efforts to modernize data systems to enhance public health responses and guarantee access to dependable and user-friendly information.
