The San Juan Social Security office reopened recently at a new address: 654 Luis Muñoz Rivera Avenue.
Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and individuals can reach the staff by calling (866) 270-0406.
“We want to remind the public that a majority of Social Security services can be accessed online, eliminating the need to visit the physical office,” the agency stated in a release. “This helps save time and reduces lengthy wait times.”
Services like updating direct deposit details, requesting a replacement SSA-1099 form, or obtaining a benefit verification letter are available via the my Social Security online account. The public can set up their account at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
The agency encouraged individuals to make appointments ahead of time or utilize online services at www.socialsecurity.gov to avoid prolonged waits at the office.
