Vegas Gunman: Stephen Paddock’s interests

Stephen Paddock had a predilection for guns, high-stakes video poker and real estate deals. His father was a notorious bank robber who escaped prison and was once in the FBI’s 10 most wanted. He had recently-married his girlfriend, two ex-wives, and what looked like a comfortable life in a retirement community in Nevada.

His life is under intense scrutiny to determine what led him to perform the horrific shooting at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, with at least 10 suitcases full of weapons and shoot from his suite on the 32nd floor against concert goers at a festival of country music, killing at least 59 people and wounding nearly 530 more.

Authorities and relatives could not explain what led the accountant, with no known criminal background, to commit the massacre.

The attacker, 64, had 23 guns at the hotel, including semi-automatic rifles, and 19 at home, as well as thousands of ammunition rounds, Las Vegas police said. He committed suicide before the authorities stormed into his room.
