Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia, accompanied by Family Secretary Ciení Rodríguez Troche and Budget Office Executive Director Juan Carlos Blanco, revealed on Wednesday the 40 non-profit and faith-based organizations chosen to carry out priority actions under the Comprehensive Plan for Social Reconstruction and Violence Prevention.

“This plan was developed through multi-sector consensus, and it is open for contributions from the government, private sector, non-profit agencies, and communities for its execution,” stated Pierluisi in a written release. “Today, we are pleased to announce that 40 organizations have been picked to receive funding that will empower them to carry out the priority actions outlined in the plan’s five pillars.”

The Comprehensive Plan emphasizes five primary areas: encouraging behaviors conducive to a culture of peace, making mental health care standard, decreasing inequality through economic progress, facilitating data reconciliation and interagency collaboration, and broadening public safety measures.

Rodríguez Troche underscored the significance of multi-sector cooperation in fostering a culture of peace in Puerto Rico, noting that while 40 organizations were selected in this initial phase, the agency aspires to support additional initiatives going forward.
