Lamborghini, The manufacturer of luxury sports cars gifted Pope Francisco a copy of a special edition of their “Huracan” model, which will be auctioned off for charities.
Lamborghini officials delivered the elegant car, with white and yellow gold details, to the Argentine pontiff in front of his residence in the Vatican. Francisco hastened to bless the vehicle.
Some of the funds obtained with the auction at Sotheby’s will go towards the reconstruction of Christian communities in Iraq devastated by the extremist group ISIS. The goal is to allow displaced Christians “to finally return to their roots and regain their dignity,” the Vatican explained.
The minimum price of the Huracan model, which reached the market in 2014, is usually around $ 200,000. The special edition made for papal charity work could reach a much higher figure in the auction.
