Former record executive and convicted felon Suge Knight believes that the rumored divorce between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck stems from Lopez’s involvement in tapes the FBI seized during a raid on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ homes.
In a recent episode of his prison podcast, Collect Calls with Suge Knight, Knight claims that the FBI may have confiscated videos from the raids on Diddy’s mansions earlier this year, some of which allegedly feature Lopez.
“They raid Puffy’s house, and they find all these videos of J-Lo involved in various things,” Knight said, referring to her connection to the 1999 nightclub shooting where Moses “Shyne” Barrow was convicted in place of Combs. “J-Lo lied, claimed the gun was Shyne’s, sending him to prison, and she knew it was Puffy’s.”
The former Death Row Records CEO, who is currently serving time for a 2015 fatal hit-and-run, asserts that Affleck now has those tapes and that their contents have created tension in his relationship with Lopez.
“I’m sure the FBI probably reached out,” Knight speculated on his podcast. “Affleck’s respected in the mainstream. I’m sure they said, ‘We want to show you some things about your wife.’”
Diddy and Lopez dated between 1999 and 2001, and Rolling Stone recently reported that Diddy attempted to rekindle their relationship after their breakup. In recent months, Diddy has faced numerous accusations of sexual assault and other crimes dating back to that period.
Knight’s comments follow ongoing rumors of Affleck and Lopez’s potential split. Reports suggest Affleck has already moved out of their $60 million Beverly Hills home, which TMZ says the couple is discreetly trying to sell.
“I’m pretty sure they’re headed for divorce,” Knight said. “Affleck had a good life… He’s got great parents, doesn’t care about paparazzi, and just lives his own life. But now, with all this extra stuff, he wants out.”
Affleck and Lopez first started dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of Gigli. They were set to marry in 2003 but called it off before breaking up in 2004. After both married and had children with others, they reunited and got married in 2022.
Meanwhile, Lopez’s career has faced challenges. Her first studio album in a decade, This Is Me…Now, debuted at No. 38 on the Billboard charts in February before quickly dropping. In May, she canceled her “This Is Me…Now/Live” tour, citing poor ticket sales. Live Nation later released a statement, saying she canceled the tour to “spend time with her children, family, and close friends.”
