Two weeks after Hurricane Maria caused devastation and left the island’s residents on the verge of a humanitarian crisis, US President #45 Donald Trump, will arrive in Puerto Rico at around 11:55am and learn first-hand about recovery efforts.
Trump is the first President of the United States to make an official visit to Puerto Rico in the middle of an emergency. He will be accompanied by his wife, Melania Trump.
In addition to meeting with governor Ricardo Rosselló, the President is scheduled to meet with hurricane victims and first-aid personnel. He also plans a meeting with the Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz, who alerted US and international media about the difficulties of the federal government to respond to the emergency in the island.
