After more than two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have decided to split up again.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday in LA County Superior Court. According to court docs, they didn’t have a prenup. TMZ was the first to break the news.
The two rekindled their romance in 2021 and got married in July 2022. They had previously been engaged in the early 2000s but broke up before tying the knot, spending 17 years apart.
During that time, Lopez was married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 and engaged to Alex Rodriguez in 2019 before they split in 2021. She’s been married four times in total.
Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and they have three kids together.
Lopez and Affleck first met on the set of “Gigli” in 2002, and by November of that year, they were engaged. They split in 2004.
After Lopez and Rodriguez went their separate ways in 2021, she was often seen with Affleck, sparking rumors they were back together. They got engaged again in April 2022, and married in Vegas on July 16, 2022, with a simple ceremony just before midnight, according to Lopez’s fan newsletter.
The couple described their wedding as “the best possible wedding we could have imagined,” a dream they made real.
But by May, rumors were swirling that things weren’t going well. Tabloids reported they hadn’t been seen together in weeks, and Affleck had moved out, putting their home up for sale and moving into a new place.
