The Office of the Panel of the Independent Special Prosecutor (Opfei) appointed this Thursday an Independent Special Prosecutor (FEI) to carry out a preliminary investigation into the irregularities in the case of the murder of the urban music singer, Kevin Fret.
According to a press release, the designated investigative prosecutor will be former judge Crisanta González Seda.
This appointment comes after the secretary of the Department of Justice, Domingo Emmanueli Hernández, sent a referral to the FEI on November 10 to investigate the alleged improper interventions of officials who intervened to stop the investigation of the crime.
González Seda will have a term of 90 days to present the report that must contain the list of facts, the applicable legal provisions and her recommendation to the members of the FEI panel.
It was on November 14 that the Justice Dept. completed the delivery of documentation to the FEI.
