Authorities investigate possible Millionaire Tax evasion at a Bad Bunny concert

The company that organized the Bad Bunny show on Friday in Asunción, Paraguay was summoned to present documents to the treasury for the alleged non-payment of various taxes.

The Undersecretary of Taxation decided to summon the company Nightlife Company SA, better known as G5Pro, whose CEO is Rodrigo Coto Nogues.

Taxation of Paraguay detected evidence of evasion linked to the Bad Bunny mega-concert, organized by the summoned company. It is estimated that the event held on Friday brought together some 50,000 people at the La Nueva Olla stadium.

Non-payment of various taxes is suspected. The organizer had to withhold from the international singer an effective rate of 4.5% of his professional fees for non-resident income tax (INR), in the form of a single and definitive payment.

On the other hand, the sale of tickets is subject to value added tax (VAT), although payments for this concept have not been recorded months after their mass marketing began.

The event company was required to provide the service contract of the international artist and his team, the invoice for that service provision, the form of payment receipts and the withholding receipts made.

They also ask for the invoices of the services contracted from abroad, the receipts of the form of payment and withholding.

This Thursday expires the three-day period granted by Taxation to the company organizing the event. If they do not submit the documents on time, the RUC will be blocked until they comply with the requirements of the treasury.
