The Assistant Commissioner of Criminal Investigations of the Police, Colonel Roberto Rivera Mercado, the search warrant is aimed at recovering film equipment that could shed light on the people who shot Jancarlo Rivera Lugo near the scene.
“We are going to extract some cameras from here, which is what the raid is for. This is a case for which we are lacking witnesses. So the film evidence is important. There is no one (at the residence). So, later we are going to ask what has to do with the content to be able to extract the images that we need to see,” Rivera Mercado told the press.
According to the preliminary investigation, Rivera Lugo, 23, was walking against traffic in the area when he was rebuked by a woman. In the midst of the discussion, gunmen approached and opened fire on the young man, who was a lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves.
The young man died while receiving medical assistance at the Damas Hospital in Ponce.
Rivera Mercado admitted that at the moment they have had little or no cooperation from the neighbors to obtain information that he gives to the thugs.
