The murder in broad daylight of a man inside a “pick up” truck in front of a business on the PR-173 highway, in Cidra, was similar to a scene from the movies and it was caught on surveillance video.
The victim of the crime was identified as Josué Rodríguez Báez, 37 years old and a resident of Aguas Buenas.
According to the video, about three people arrived in a car and two of them quickly got out and began shooting at the man, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a 2005 Mazda B2300 pickup truck. After shooting him several times through the windows , one of the assassins climbed on the hood of the vehicle and finished him off with additional gunshots. When the Police and other first responders arrived at the scene, they found Rodríguez Báez’s body riddled with bullets.
The victim had a criminal record for violations of the Gun Law in 2013.
Agent Lisandra Aponte, assigned to the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Caguas, took on the case together with prosecutor Francisco González.
