Ricky Martin’s case Dismissed

The court case against Ricky Martin was dismissed, as confirmed by his press team.

Against the singer weighed a restraining order that had been granted ex parte, at the request of his nephew, Denis Sánchez Martin.

The singer/actor, who is in Los Angeles, where he films the series Mrs. American Pie for Apple TV +, attended the court date virtually and was accompanied by Mr. Harry Massanet. In Puerto Rico, his defense was completed by lawyers Joaquín Monserrate Matienzo and Carmelo Dávila.

On July 1, Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell granted an ex parte restraining order, under Law 54 on Domestic Violence, against Enrique José Martin Morales, the artist’s real name.

“The parties had a relationship for 7 months. They separated 2 months ago, but the petitioned does not accept the separation. He calls him frequently. In addition, the petitioner has seen him hanging around his residence on at least 3 occasions. The petitioner fears for his safety”, alleged the document, which was in effect until today.

On the other hand, yesterday a complaint made by Denis Sánchez Martin emerged, included in the complaint 2022-1-182-3963, in which he alleged he received two threatening calls from international numbers, so that he would not appear nor speak at the hearing today.

“If you speak at the hearing, we are going to kill you,” says the complaint, attributing the threat to a man’s voice. The first call was received at 9:06 p.m. and a minute later, from another number, they even mentioned him the street where he lives in Hato Rey (San Juan).

The petitioner’s lawyer requested the case to be dismissed.
