2 Puerto Rican women Murdered, 1 was pregnant

Authorities in Chester County, Pennsylvania, recently arrested a man accused of killing two young Puerto Rican women and an unborn child in a domestic violence case.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Valley Township Police announced the arrest of Mamadou Kallie, 23, of Coatesville, following a daring car chase.

The man was arrested and charged with double felony and the murder of an unborn child on May 29, 2022, in Valley Township, an hour northwest of Philadelphia.

“The man is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, auto theft, hit-and-run, endangering the welfare of a child, and related charges. The defendant is being held without bail due to the nature of the charges at the Chester County Jail,” District Attorney Deb Ryan said in a written statement.

“These tragic and senseless murders of two women and an unborn child should outrage the entire world. Domestic violence continues to plague our communities and our homes and its ripple effect has life-altering consequences for far too many people. From what authorities were able to piece together, on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 9:21 p.m., Coatesville Police responded to a domestic dispute at 300 Mount Pleasant St. in Valley Township. After speaking with the victim and the now accused, the scene was cleared.

Thirty minutes later, Valley Township Police responded to a crash and report of shots fired at 300 E. Glencrest Rd. There, they found two women with multiple gunshot wounds and a 22-month-old boy in the back seat. of a vehicle.

The victims were identified as Tiara Rodríguez and Kimberly Ortiz Zayas by their relatives, who were five months pregnant. According to sources, both are Puerto Rican.

Kimberly Ortiz Zayas and her unborn baby were pronounced deceased at the scene, while Tiara Rodríguez was taken to Paoli Hospital where she died from injuries received in the shooting.

In addition, the authorities found a 22-month-old boy, the son of Rodríguez and the alleged attacker, who was not injured and is out of danger.

Shortly thereafter, at 10:45 p.m., West Chester Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in East Bradford. The carjacking victim said it was Kallie himself who stole her vehicle at gunpoint.

It was then that the local police went in search of the suspect and after a shocking chase the accused was arrested in Caln Twp. at 11:04 p.m.

The suspect got out of the car pointing a gun and threatening to kill himself, but the police managed to get him to surrender and the defendant was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Finally.

The Police recovered the weapon that the accused had in his hand and that contained a live cartridge in the chamber and a live cartridge in the magazine.
