State and Federal authorities are on high alert, after having received tips on the alleged presence of the sinister federal fugitive Nelson Torres Delgado, nicknamed “El Burro” in this city where thousands of university students crowd the shops to participate in the activities of the Inter-university games.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation allegedly issued an alert bulletin on April 29, about the confidences of shooting threats during the celebration of the Fairs and indicate that “El Burro” apparently tries to kill a individual nicknamed “El Nene”, in the Dr. Pila caserío.
“El Burro” was allegedly seen a few days ago in said residential area escorted by two individuals carrying assault weapons.
Dozens of agents in civilian clothes were sent to Ponce and are providing surveillance around the residential Dr. Pila and other villages. In Ponce there is no one with the nickname “El Nene”, as a leader of drug gangs.
Dozens of uniformed and Transit agents attend the activities related to the Fairs.
Who is “El Burro”?
“El Burro”, 35, is the possible intellectual author of the massacre that occurred on December 7 in Cidra (which was caught on video) and the murder of two individuals on the highway from Guayama to Salinas, among other bloody acts.
Since last December the authorities have received confidences locating it in the central part of the state of Florida. However, others continue to locate him in Puerto Rico, apparently protected by an importer of cocaine bundles that operates on the southern coast between Patillas and Guánica.
Recently the search for “El Burro” was concentrated between Arecibo and Isabela.
“El Burro” alleged intellectual author of the Cidra massacre, left a balance of five deaths, including that of O’Neill Ortiz Castrodad, nicknamed “Ónix”, 27.
“Onix” served federal prison for a year and when he got out of it he had become an enemy of one of “El Burro’s” allies.
“El Burro” is the maximum leader of the partially dismantled drug organization known as “La Lorenzana”, which operates in San Lorenzo.
On May 22, 2019, a contingent of more than 400 agents from different federal agencies carried out an operation that covered the residential “La Lorenzana” and the Roosevelt sweep, in San Lorenzo.
Of the 25 arrest warrants issued by a grand jury in Federal Court, agents arrested 24 of the suspected drug traffickers.
“El Burro”, who according to the FBI as of May 2019 was suspected of twenty violent deaths, vanished and gained fame as a sinister author of cruel murders. According to the allegation, the victims were taken to a house in San Lorenzo, where they were executed and the corpses were dismembered with an electric saw.
The remains were buried near a creek in the Roosevelt neighborhood.
“El Burro” evaded the federal forces and continued to control the movement of drugs in San Lorenzo, Juncos, Caguas, Cayey and a large part of the towns in the eastern region of Puerto Rico. He managed to recruit assassins and runners to replace those who are now incarcerated, paying him considerable sums.
All kinds of controlled drugs and pharmaceuticals are sold at the spots. He is linked to transactions for the sale of assault rifles and ammunition.
Between December and May he is suspected of having ordered a series of murders from his hitmen.
