Tourist in Critical Condition after accident in Vieques island

A 55-year-old tourist from Spain who had an accident on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico is in critical condition, the Puerto Rico Police reported today.

The European visitor, identified by the police as María Rivodigo Rodríguez, was transported in an air ambulance to the Río Piedras Medical Center, in the city of San Juan.

Rivodigo Rodríguez was diagnosed with various traumas as a result of the blows she received to the head when she was ejected from a golf cart, described as a Yamaha, which was being driven on highway 995.

According to the Police, the accident was due to the European tourist losing control of the vehicle.

Paramedics transported the woman to the Diagnosis and Treatment Center (CDT) in Vieques and later referred to the capital’s medical center.

The facts, reported at around 3:23 p.m. occurred in the El Pilón sector, it was indicated.

Personnel from the Highway Patrol Division took charge of the investigation.
