An urban rapper was shot along with another young man in a shooting reported last night, Tuesday, on Las Flores Avenue, in the Florencio neighborhood, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
According to preliminary reports from the Police, artist Anthony Khalil “Ankhal” Mercado Díaz, 21, who is a resident of the state of Florida, and José De León, 25, nicknamed “Whey”, sustained several gunshot wounds on their bodies after a masked man, dressed in black clothing and armed with a rifle, opened fire on the vehicle in which they were traveling as passengers.
The two wounded men were transported by paramedics to the emergency room of the Río Piedras Medical Center hospital, both in critical condition. Later.
According to the investigation, at 10:15 p.m., while they arrived at the residence of the driver of the 2007 gray Lexus IS 250 , they were shot by the gunman. The motive has not been established, but the attack was directed at them.
Agent Ruth Velázquez, attached to the Fajardo CIC, will continue to investigate the events and will search for videos from security cameras to try to identify the suspect.
