Agents attached to the Mayagüez District were alerted at 6:40 p.m. yesterday, about an incident of domestic violence on the premises of the Columbus Landing residential complex in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
A woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the incident.
Captain Joel González, director of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of the Mayagüez area, confirmed that the victim had nine bullet wounds.
The victim was transported to a hospital in the region, where the doctor on duty indicated that her condition, after all, was stable.
According to the investigation of the Police, Noel Otero Ríos, 27 years old and a resident of the place, shot the woman and then committed suicide.
Agent Rodríguez, attached to the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Mayagüez, together with prosecutor Andy Rosado, investigated the events.
