Charges for violation of articles 3.5 (conjugal sexual assault), 3.4 (restriction of freedom) and 3.1 (abuse) of Law 54 for the Prevention and Intervention with Domestic Violence and abuse of minors were filed last night against Reinaldo López Arroyo, of 24 years old, who was identified by the Fajardo Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) as pastor of the Ekklesia Tabernacle of Praise and Worship, of that municipality.
The complaint was filed on Saturday night by his 27-year-old wife, with whom he has been married for 10 months.
The victim denounced that since December 2020 she allegedly began to be the victim of a pattern of physical and psychological abuse, since López Arroyo grabbed her by the hair and by the arm to talk to her, and that he forced her and incurred in conjugal sexual abuse .
The director of the Fajardo CIC, Lieutenant Joaquín De La Cruz, indicated that the abused party separated from López Arroyo on October 21. The couple do not have children.
López Arroyo was affiliated with the La Senda Antigua church of the apostle Wanda Rolón.
Judge Anette Santiago, of the Fajardo Court, determined cause for his arrest and ordered a bond of $50,000 that he did not pay, for which he was imprisoned in the Bayamón correctional complex.
The case was consulted with the prosecutor Lenabel Alvarado De Gracia.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 24.
