Her husband says it was suicide. No one believes it.
The acting chief prosecutor of the Department of Justice, Jessika Correa González, confirmed that the Public Ministry’s investigation into the cause of the death of María Paola Hernández Agosto is not limited to suicide, but encompasses multiple angles.
“We have not ruled out anything. The investigation is comprehensive and includes all possible scenarios. That is the duty of the prosecution, especially in the face of the facts of this case. Our north is to discover the truth and do justice,” said Correa González.
Hernández Agosto died of a gunshot wound last Friday, October 29, in a community in Cupey. Her husband, identified as José Bobonis, alleged it was a suicide.
The director of the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF), María Conte Miller, confirmed that the cause of death of the young María Paola Hernández Agosto was a gunshot wound, but they are still waiting to determine how the death occurred.
“Last Sunday, the forensic pathologist Irma Rivera performed the autopsy of the young María Paola Hernández Agosto. Her cause of death was a gunshot wound. The manner of death, which is the determination of how the death occurred, is pending the result of the expert analyzes and the investigation carried out by the Police, ”Conte Miller added in written statements.
A 9-millimeter Glock pistol was seized at the scene, among other pieces of evidence.
“The expert evidence will be decisive. We are awaiting the reports from the Institute of Forensic Sciences, while the San Juan Prosecutor’s Office continues to advance other aspects of the investigation,” the prosecutor added.
