Today the federal court in San Juan issued an arrest warrant for ex-convict Geofley J. Pérez, one of the suspects of the kidnapping of three people at the El Hipopótamo restaurant in Río Piedras area (San Juan), which resulted in the murder of a 15-year-old in Guaynabo.
The arrest warrant of Magistrate Camille L. Vélez Rivé responds to a notice from the federal Probation Office regarding Pérez’s relationship with the crime that is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
A motion by the probation officer informed the federal court yesterday that “it identified Mr. Geofley (Jomar) Pérez in a video (from a security camera) in the company of an unidentified subject who was in possession of a firearm.”
“In the video, the unidentified subject and Mr. Pérez got into a vehicle that was used to collect a reward in connection with a carjacking, kidnapping and murder in an event that occurred early Sunday” adds the motion.
The probation officer then requested that the arrest warrant be issued for him to be taken to court to show cause of why the supervised release should not be withdrawn.
