FBI agents assumed the investigation early today and according to versions obtained by EL VOCERO, the kidnapping occurred at 11:45 a.m. yesterday. The 83-year-old owner left the business with a 22-year-old who is part of his family and another 17-year-old son of an employee of the busy business on Muñoz Rivera Avenue, and they boarded a van to go to their homes.
Two or three gunmen in a 2020 Jeep Cherokee bus blocked their way and kidnapped them. One of the employees, upon noticing the kidnapping, held an exchange of fire with the kidnappers.
The kidnappers took the octogenarian and the two young men and began calling a family member to demand $ 80,000. Around 6:00 in the morning today, when the ransom would be delivered to the kidnappers, the body of the teenager was found shot and the bus burned. The other hostages were released.
The investigation that has been carried out since the early hours of the morning led the agents to the Las Margaritas residential complex, in Santurce, where the kidnappers allegedly tried to hide.
According to confidences received by the authorities, the suspects threw their weapons into the lagoon.
At the time of the kidnapping, the Police had a handful of officers attending the San Juan area.
