No Tsunami warning after 4.9 Tremor

The Puerto Rico Seismic Network reported this afternoon a magnitude 4.9 earthquake in southeastern Puerto Rico.

It was felt throughout the island, but with a greater impact in eastern municipalities such as Fajardo and Vieques. The epicenter was to the southeast of said island municipality, according to that entity.

In its report, the seismic network detailed that it was felt 31.1 kilometers southeast of Vieques, 42.33 kilometers south of Culebra and 99.73 kilometers east southeast of San Juan.

No tsunami advisory, warning or watch was issued for Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands.

In a publication on social networks, the municipality of Vieques indicated that the staff of the Municipal Emergency Management Office is checking all the buildings in the municipality to corroborate if there was any damage.
