Florida officials issued a worrying warning to residents after they said the state’s unemployment benefits website was attacked by hackers.
Authorities said the hackers may have gained access to sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and possibly bank account numbers.
Authorities said as many as 58,000+ people may have been victims of the attack, which allegedly occurred between April and July of this year 2021.
Officials advise anyone in this system to closely monitor their financial accounts and check for any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
