917 Fully-Vaccinated persons tested positive for covid-19 on the island

Data published today by the Department of Health reflects that 1,081,459 people have completed the vaccination process against covid-19 on the Island, which means that they have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or a dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Of these, at least 917 have been infected with the coronavirus, according to the information collected by the Covid-19 Tracking Agency.

“This is consistent with the fact that the vaccine does work. This is .08 percent of the people who have been vaccinated on the island. We must remember that vaccines are attributed 95 percent effectiveness in general terms, “Dr. Iris Cardona said (Cardona is the Sub-secretary of the PR Health Dept.).

Total number of deaths attributed to Covid19 in the island is 2,466 since the pandemic started. 35 of those deaths were people who at least received 1 dose of the vaccine and 12 were fully vaccinated.
