The local Police investigated about 50 cases of domestic violence and violations of restraining orders in a week, the most recent one, against an individual who allegedly attacked his wife in front of two minors.
The accused was identified as Jesús M. Díaz Camacho, 40 years old, from Villalba, who allegedly grabbed and choked his spouse by the neck in front of his two minor daughters.
The case was investigated by the police and afterwards, the Judge determined cause for arrest for aggravated mistreatment and set a bond of $350,000 , which he did not pay and was put in the Las Cucharas jail.
In Ponce, a 17-year-old girl was assaulted by her boyfriend. She was taken to the Hospital where she was treated by the doctor on duty, who diagnosed lacerations in different parts of her body. This case was referred to the Domestic Violence Division.
At the Condado Plaza hotel, on Ashford Avenue, Pablo Fuentes Morales, 25, a Florida resident, was arrested for allegedly attacking the complainant with his hands. This case was referred to personnel from the San Juan Domestic Violence Division so that they could continue with the investigation.
In Toa Alta, Shaquille Martínez Olivo was arrested for allegedly hitting his partner with a gun in the head and uttering profanity. He was booked into a jail, since he was on federal probation.
All Other cases are being investigated by the police.
