The man accused of murdering Arellys Mercado, Mr. Jensen Medina Cardona was arrested and returned to prison today, after not being able to post the $250,000 bond imposed by Judge Juan Robes Adorno, of the Fajardo Court. This for allegedly creating a fake driver’s license.
The public prosecutor had requested an elevation hearing to request an increase in the $3,500 bond that was imposed on him last week and that he lent through a bond lender.
“I am pleased with the determination of the judge, he assessed the evidence and understood the arguments of the prosecution,” Prosecutor Yamil Juarbe told the press.
Medina Cardona faces trial for the 2019 murder of Arellys Mercado in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, in confusing events in which he allegedly shot her for finding his cellphone in a bathroom stall.
