🔺VIDEO: Felix Verdejo Arrested by the FBI

Félix “El Diamante” Verdejo turned himself in tonight to the FBI, who formerly accused him of kidnapping and carjacking resulting in the death of Keishla Marlen Rodriguez, according to official information.

In addition, the FBI accused him of “intentionally killing an unborn child,” in reference to the baby the young woman was expecting.

For these charges, the boxer could face the death penalty.

Verdejo arrived at the FBI offices on Avenida Chardón in Hato Rey at 8:00 p.m., accompanied by his lawyers Jorge Colina and Eli López, in relation to the case for the death of Keishla Marlen Rodríguez, whose body was found on Saturday in the San José lagoon.

Sources indicated that the feds had given him an hour to get to the FBI offices.

According to the federal prosecution, Verdejo was aware of the young woman’s pregnancy at least since last April 27 when he asked one of the witnesses in the case for help.

Two days later, the boxer reportedly contacted Keishla to see her at her residence. According to the accusation statement, the young woman arrived in her car at the boxer’s house and got on his SUV. There, the authorities maintain based on the witness’s statement, they had an argument and Verdejo hit her in the face. Later, the boxer would have injected her with a substance that he acquired at the Caserío Luis Llorens Torres.

Unconscious, Keishla was tied by her hands and feet with a cable and transported on Verdejo’s SUV to the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge. “They tied a block to her,” says the federal prosecution.

Once on the bridge, Keishla’s body was thrown into the lagoon, where she would be found days later. The statement assures that “Verdejo shot the victim with a weapon.”

The witness – who would have participated in the events as well – was the one who took the keys to Keishla’s car and drove to abandon it in Canóvanas, according to the accusation.

Sources learned that the Feds had kept a watch on different points today, including a residence in Caguas where it is presumed that boxer Félix “El Diamante” Verdejo was spending the night.
