🔺$300 Fine for PR Tourists start today…

The Secretary of the Department of Health, Carlos Mellado, made a tour today at the Luis Muñoz Marín airport, where the $300 fine starts for passengers who arrive in Puerto Rico without a negative PCR test for COVID-19.

Mellado accepted yesterday that they were still in the process of analyzing with the Department of the Treasury on what will be done to collect the money, in addition to the fact that legislation was being submitted to be able to tax the credit of the person who does not pay it.

He explained that any person who intends to enter the island through a port must sign the traveler’s declaration on his cell phone or on one of the computers located in the terminals. In this process, the person can supply their test results. If he does not attach it, a form of payment will automatically come out for him to supply a debit or credit card.

The person who does not present the negative result will have up to 48 hours to take the test and have the fine removed.
