Puerto Rico: Coronavirus hospitalizations on the rise

The Department of Health reported today in its report 399 patients hospitalized for covid-19, an increase of 47 compared to the figure reported yesterday.

According to the agency, of the 399 people hospitalized, 367 are adult patients and 32 are pediatric.

There is one pediatric patient and 73 adult patients in intensive care and 44 (adults) on a ventilator.

At the moment, 2,738 beds are available for adults, as well as 218 intensive care beds and 915 fans. There are also 772 pediatric beds, 62 intensive care beds, and 114 pediatric ventilators.

On the other hand, Health reported in its report two additional deaths from covid-19, as well as 1,837 new positive cases between confirmed and probable.

With this, the accumulated figure rises to 216,678 cases and 2,154 deaths, between confirmed and probable, since the pandemic began.

Vaccination advances

Data published on the Health portal show that 430,970 people have completed the vaccination process on the island, which means that they have received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

1,175,562 doses have been administered on the island, while 744,592 people have at least one dose.

Meanwhile, starting tomorrow, Monday, the vaccination process will open for all eligible adults.
