$20,000 fine to a Puerto Rico Tourist

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is recommending a fine of $20,000 dollars to a passenger who refused to wear a mask on a flight to Puerto Rico.

According to the Washington Post, the woman, on a JetBlue flight, coming from Boston, refused to use it and did not obey when asked to remain seated with her seat belt on.

In response to this behavior, the pilot diverted the flight back to Boston. The FAA indicated that the woman could be facing a fine of $20,000.

A similar situation occurred with another flight from Boston, but bound for the Dominican Republic, where a passenger also refused to put on a mask and would not stop drinking from a bottle of alcohol that he carried. The gentleman is said to have been insulting airline employees and was uncooperative. On this case the FAA is recommending a fine of $ 12,250.

The federal agency did not identify those involved in these two cases who could be facing civil proceedings.
