Federal authorities arrested 19 persons this morning, who are allegedly linked to drug trafficking and money laundering on the island, confirmed Iván Ortiz, spokesperson for ICE.
“The only thing I can tell you is that we executed 19 arrest warrants related to drug trafficking and money laundering,” Ortiz told the press.
The official did not detailed the operation, since the accusations against these people are still sealed.
He mentioned that the agency carried out the orders along with other state and federal agencies.
Data on the case will be released later, said Lymarie Llovet, a press spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office in Puerto Rico.
