New Warehouse Full of Supplies discovered, American Corporation allegedly behind Fraud Scheme

Another warehouse with lots of supplies, wooden panels and roof awnings, stacked in Cayey, Puerto Rico that were supposed to be used to repair homes after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017, was discovered this Friday by citizens.

The mayor of Cayey, Rolando Ortiz, informed that the material is “in total abandonment.”

He blamed the situation on an American corporation that arrived on the Island after the cyclone to repair homes with federal funds.

“It was one of these corporations created to benefit from the crisis of Hurricane Maria. They came to improve housing and it turned out that they took the economic benefits and left … I understand that there must be US corporations involved in this scheme, ”he said.

The first images of the warehouse was published by Lorenzo Delgado, known as “León Fiscalizador”, on his Facebook page. This was the one that also revealed last month the existence of the warehouse of the Bureau of Emergency Management and Disaster Management (Nmead) that had a large number of cots and awnings, as well as food supplies and expired water.
