NEW 4.7 Tremor rocks South Puerto Rico

A new 4.7 tremor was reported in the region south of Puerto Rico, the most recent of hundreds that have occurred since December 28 and the strongest of 11 reported as significant during Thursday, according to the Seismic Network.

The movement had a maximum intensity of 6 in Yauco, with a depth of two kilometers. It was located at kilometer 13.7 southeast of Guánica and 17.55 kilometers south of Guayanilla. It was recorded at 11:41 p.m. at latitude 17.9006, longitude -66.8261.

This is the second tremor that exceeds magnitude 4 during the day. This afternoon, at 4:42 p.m. Another earthquake of 4.3 was recorded in the same area.

There is no tsunami warning.
