Puerto Rico has recorded 210 tremors since the 5.1 quake that caught local attention last Friday afternoon.
The Emergency Management and Disaster Management Bureau Rep. said that at least 11 tremors have been widely noticed by citizens because of its proximity to the coast and it’s low depth.
“It has already declined today,” Acevedo said. “Puerto Rico is surrounded by many different faults. That is why we ask for people to be always ready, not only for the hurricane season, but during the 365 days of the year.”
The official said that the coastal municipalities of the southwest of PR activated their emergency personnel on ‘stand by’ from the regions of Aguadilla, Mayagüez, Caguas and Ceiba in case there was an emergency”.
