Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport has gradually increased the number of commercial flights taking off per day, but has not been able to operate on full capacity because it continues to operate with two temporary radars provided by the Military. They need 2 more to be able to meet FAA regulations.
Meanwhile, power has returned partially to the terminals. On Sunday there was electricity, but the airport went dark again and today, the system is back on. Electrical authority employees are still testing the grid in a very limited way. There is still no a/c at the airport, but that could change in the next several days.
Many people have slept several days at the airport as flights keep getting cancelled due to air traffic control problems resulting from the lack of radars.
