FBI raids house of PR man who Threatened President Trump

The head of the federal prosecutor, Rosa Emilia Rodriguez Velez, reported the arrest yesterday of a Puerto Rican for allegedly threatening to kill the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and destroy the cities of Newark, Boston, Colorado and the White House.

The federal official identified the detainee as 37 year-old Migdoel Cruz Ruiz,  who was arrested in the town of Quebradillas during an FBI operation, and other federal agencies.

The man-according to Rodriguez Velez-threatened to execute “very soon” attacks against President Trump and terrorist acts in American cities through a call made on January 12th  to the National Threat Operations Center of the FBI.

In the communication, the Puerto Rican claimed that he carried out this threat “in revenge” for the acts that the United States performs to the citizens of Pakistan, India and Iran.

It was cited that Cruz Ruiz faces a charge for violating section 871 of Chapter 18 of the United States Code.

In her statement, the chief prosecutor warned that “the federal authorities will continue to prosecute those who use communications to threaten, encourage and incite with violent acts.”

If found guilty, he could face a penalty of 5 years in prison, supervised release of up to three years and a bail of up to $ 250,000.
