Thousands who celebrated the 51st annual Puerto Rican festival and parade in downtown Boston on Sunday wanted to show the world what it looks like when Puerto Rico “se levanta” — when Puerto Rico rises.
Organizers dedicated this year’s events to those who suffered after Hurricane Maria devastated the island nearly a year ago on Sept. 20, leaving residents without power and water.
