Five killed in Puerto Nuevo in first massacre of the year

---

The first massacre of 2025 occurred Monday at the Rodríguez Plumbing Contractors business on Duina Street in Puerto Nuevo, resulting in five deaths.

A massacre is the term used by police to refer to killings of three or more people.

Upon arriving at the scene, the agents found on the second floor of the building the bodies of three men and two women, identified as: Ángel Edgardo Rodríguez Torres, 38 years old, vice president and son of the owner of the establishment; Alvin Cardona Ríos, 31, director of Human Resources; Nanette Z. Arriaga Pérez, 61, accounting employee; and Angilianna Franki González, 24, accounting employee. Luis H. González Torres, 58, an accountant at the business and prime suspect in the shootings, took his life at the scene.

San Juan Municipal Police Commissioner Juan Jackson confirmed that designated Justice Secretary Janet Parra arrived at the scene.

“The case will be referred to the Puerto Rico police, who are already on-site,” Jackson stated.

Preliminary reports indicate that the killings occurred after an argument between the company’s accountant and four other employees during a meeting.
