For the elected representative, the Thanksgiving visit to the halfway house carried significant importance.

From The Star Staff

Edgar Robles Rivera, the newly elected representative for House District 14 (Arecibo and Hatillo), honored Thanksgiving with a heartfelt visit to the Centro de Transformación de las Tinieblas a la Luz Admirable, located in Arecibo’s Barrio Dominguito and led by José Feliciano.

The incoming legislator also pledged to collaborate closely with the Legislature to enhance the quality of life for individuals receiving services from this organization.

Robles Rivera remarked that this act of solidarity highlights the New Progressive Party’s dedication to those battling substance addiction and alcohol issues, a commitment that entails providing support and a chance for a fresh start.

For the soon-to-be legislator, organizing the dinner stemmed from a deeply personal place, reflecting a connection he has with his cherished father.

The representative-elect, who has a background in the public housing system, is acutely aware of the challenges posed by addiction.

“Our father faced struggles with alcoholism, and with assistance from organizations like this center, he managed to overcome this affliction,” he stated.
